Does WordPress Ping New Pages?

The WordPress interface has a list of resources that are pinged when a new post is created.

But what about pages?  Does WordPress ping those resources when a new page is created?

The answer is yes.  Whether a post or a page, when you create or edit it, a new ping occurs.

    Well, I think pages are not pinged in Wordpress. Have tested in localhost with a packet sniffer and I don´t see any pinging activity when creating or updating pages, but I may be wrong. Could someone else make some tests so we can know it for sure?

    Seems that Wordpress pages does not have trackbacks/pings enabled by default, like posts. You have to enable them manually from the page editor. At least in Wordpress 3.0.5 that I use:

    Discussion
    [x ] Allow trackbacks and pings to this page.
