Several weeks ago (perhaps a month) I requested information from Omniture about their PPC search engine marketing product.  Since there is no published pricing one is left to requesting an overview of what the company does, apparently to be followed-up with a more detailed sales proposal.

That follow-up finally arrived.  Several weeks too late.  By now, I’m already in with another competing company.

Wake up!

Waiting a several weeks to a month before sending an email response to a product request is not sufficient.

Even worse, the email response was a canned message.  It attached  a generic “data sheet” that contained little to no useful information.

The email essentially started “I was hoping to have a conversation regarding your search marketing needs …”

Not very impressive.  If that is the best Omniture can do to develop its own business, I don’t want to know how bad their service is for promoting my business.  I didn’t bother to respond.

The company I did go with, to track PPC costs to the keyword level, is Affiliate Reporting.  They have been very, very responsive.

Click Here to Check Out Affiliate Reporting.  It is the type of hungry company eager to strut its stuff and, even better, has pricing based on how much money they make for you.  In other words, they have a significant incentive to make you money – and not to sit on their hands waiting weeks to send you a high school level follow-up email.
