The Official Get Rich Guide to Information Marketing by Dan Kennedy, Bill Glazer, and Robert Skrob, will not make anyone a millionaire. This is an extremely disappointing book.

The book is extremely general. If you're looking for a Dan Kennedy book - forget it. Except for an introductory and conclusionary section by Dan Kennedy, this book is written by Robert Skrob.

Reading it after having bought it because of the Dan Kennedy authorship, it was quickly apparent that Dan Kennedy is primarily lending his name to Robert Skrob's book to make a quick buck.

As indicated, the book is unsatisfyingly general. Anyone could have written it. The key to making a million? Basically: have a great product and great sales technique, with a no-risk guarantee, placed in a monthly payment program. Wow! Now you know enough to make a million, and save yourself some dough on this book.

Instead of providing details, the book itself is extremely thin. To bump the page count it has countless puff reviews of various Internet marketers - again with none of the detail needed to help you in any meaningful way.

As one example, the formula for success is given as:
Quality Product + Quality Lead + Marketing Funnel + Risk Reversal + Continuity Income + What's Next = Big Bucks
Parts of the formula, such as What's Next, then are basically dropped.

If you want good information from Dan Kennedy I highly recommend his older books. The newer the material the worse it is.

Parts of The Official Get Rich Guide to Information Marketing are simply unreadable because they are obvious product plugs for Dan Kennedy products. Always enjoying to buy a book only to find product plugs to buy something else - instead of providing the detailed information you thought you were buying in the first place.

The other problem with Dan Kennedy's recent material is his arrogant ego gets in the way of the useful information. Dan Kennedy in this book takes full credit for virtually every - yes every - successful marketing technique created in the past 20 years. That's just not true.

This from someone whose own online information plain sucks. Frankly, Dan Kennedy needs to stick with paper ads and paper direct mail - what he knows and is good at.

Anyone remotely familiar with Internet marketing will see glaring holes, problems, and misinformation in this book. As one example, The Official Get Rich Guide to Information Marketing equates Constant Contact and Aweber as interchangeable problems. Having used both that is flat false. Constant Contact is essentially a newsletter emailer. Create an email and send it to your list. Aweber is an autoresponder. Create messages ahead of time and they are later sent on schedule to subsequent subscribers. They are entirely different.

But back to Dan Kennedy. Somewhere along the line Dan Kennedy forgot that the potential customer is the #1 issue. Deliver what the customer wants. And the customer could care less about Dan Kennedy's ego - which is in the way and seriously detracts from his message these days.

Bottom line: if you have read Dan Kennedy's past books you will be sorely disappointed if you buy The Official Get Rich Guide to Information Marketing. Unlike prior material, this is uselessly vague, really just a promo for other products, and it is misleading to have Dan Kennedy and Bill Glazer's names as authors. It is by Robert Skrob, with minor contributions by Dan Kennedy and Dan Glazer.
